Beautiful Realities, Part 4

Most of my posts have been long, wordy, philosophical and full of life lessons learned. That IS the purpose of the beautiful realities project; to reflect on how capturing beauty in all of it's real life can teach us important lessons, and bring joy.

Today, perhaps because it's now May 22nd and I am finally updating April's segment, I'm going to simplify. Because simplifying has been my great quest as of late. Like my writing, my life often reflects my desire to keep adding many great things, which have the tendency to bring great joy, fulfillment, excitement, and exhaustion. I am learning how to stay home and play with trains some mornings instead of feeling like an outing is always essential. I am learning how to stop doing dishes to dance with my 3 year old. I'm learning to quit my projects as soon as my kids are up from naps. I'm learning to simplify, and see the beauty that comes of it. This post will be short, simple and to the point.

Things I was grateful for in April: Playing in the sunshine. Long walks with my kids. Days at the pool splashing in the water. Mornings at home, doing puzzles and reading books. The light at the end of the studying for med school tests tunnel. Learning to love mornings in their fresh light and energy, and new opportunities, and new starts. Quiet evenings at home discussing the day gone, and the day ahead with my husband. Cuddling to our favorite TV show, NOT losing any weight (but greatly enjoying) our favorite cold stone ice cream flavors. Visits with friends, and a visit from my mom. Lots of messes, lots of laughing. Lots of baby cuddles. April was a happy month. April was a month to enjoy the simple things.

Happy April!!
